I know this one is a little late, between me forgetting my laptop before a week long trip to Alberta (damn that pregnancy brain) and then dealing with a nasty stomach bug as soon as we got home, but now it’s time.
I had mentioned a few times in Discord that I was thinking of changing platforms for the updates, to something that was ultimately easier to be found and used by all. It of course takes some time getting all set up to the branding and specifications needed. So that last part is still a work in progress. I am however very excited to be using Substack as the newest home for all communications on updates — and possible future podcasts.
Now with all that out of the way, let’s get into this past month’s updates.
It’s been a busy and bustling month on Cronos as a whole, with memecoin season being the current thing. Of course, I stand by my original statement in Discord that we should all be careful of playing with memecoins as most will be scams and I’d hate to see anyone lose everything. That being said, I also mentioned that it’s OK to play, just to play safe. And as such, I have done so for both the project and on a personal level — never using the project’s nor my own funds to do so. I was able to raise funds and secure profit, starting with a free airdrop made to both the project and my personal wallet. So no matter what, our community wallet will not go to zero, even if all those meme coins drop to zero themselves.
Also, at the beginning of the month, I sent out an airdrop to all holders, and some extra to holders who were active at the time and dropped their wallets. The breakdown of this was outlined in the #dc-mamas-updates channel in Discord. But I will include it below as well.
Were meme coins a part of our idea and “roadmap” of the project? Not at all. But that doesn’t mean we have to ignore them entirely either.
In fact, we’re currently running a giveaway alongside dear friends of ours over at Dead Beat Dads for Mother’s Day for some of their memecoin $DADDY. Enter below before May 12th 2024.
Now let’s get back to the normal project items.
As I mentioned in previous updates, I am working on completely updating the website, but you will not be able to see this until it’s published at the end.
As the same time, I am still working on the book. The first draft was completed a while ago, but the editing is proving to be a challenge with both the pregnancy and me constantly changing things in certain chapters.. I mean I am not changing the overall message of the chapter, but how it’s presented. That’s the perfectionist in me. And it happens to be taking longer because the fact is this pregnancy is kicking my butt at times. But we move forward no matter what.
We’ve not had any requests to help any mamas out recently, which means our funds are still sitting in the wallet, just growing as CRO slowly makes its way up in value. While I’d rather be helping mamas, growing the wallet is never a bad thing either.
As always, I am still constantly promoting the Decentral Mamas in real life scenarios (as that is more beneficial in the long run rather than constantly talking about it in the eco-chamber that is X(Twitter)). But that doesn’t mean I don’t push the idea of it online as well, on both Instagram and Facebook.
There’s more to come with the Mamas, as always. But I think I want to take this opportunity to recap some of the things we have accomplished with the Decentral Mamas so far.
We’ve helped a mom of 7 get funding so she can study to become a bookkeeper
We’ve helped two struggling moms get emergency funding to get out of some tight spots.
We’ve held a multi-chain giveaway for holders
We sent out the 1st phase of the merch orders
We worked hard for months to get free $FRTN rewards for holders for simply listing the $NFTs on Ebisusbay, which also helped us to remain recognized on the the chain during the bear market and create partnerships.
We built the community wallet holdings of 0 $FRTN to 13,429 $FRTN (at time of writing this), with the mission to make it to 20K $FRTN and then using all the staking rewards from that to add to the project wallet’s distribution amounts (to later be divided between holders).
We partnered with Candy City on their Candy Melons game (for Android and iOS), to get Mamas holders free perks in the game, giving them the opportunity to earn crypto from playing.
I have remained accessible at all times in Discord and show up almost daily in the Voice Chat room.
I personally (not the project) bought back over 50 Mamas NFTs and burned them so as to lower the supply and take them off the market forever.
We grew the website to show more about the project and even started an app (very basic at this time) that I hope to build out as we go, in time of course.
We held a few podcast episodes (to later be resumed when I have the mental capacity and hopefully time — you know, after pregnancy)
So while some may complain or wrongfully accuse us of not getting things done, they’d be wrong. We’ve been building all along and we’re no where near done!
I am excited for what’s to come!
